Aboard a dream

Not far from Portovenere, in a unique landscape between sea and land, the islands that we will explore on our tour are Palmaria, the largest island in Liguria, Tino and the islet Tinetto. Together, the three islands make up the southwestern end of the Gulf of La Spezia, the so-called Gulf of the Poets, so named for the beauty and the wild character that inspired poets and artists since the time of the Roman Empire.

Wild nature and history

Characterized by wild and uncontaminated nature, the islands are almost deserted – with the exception of Palmaria, which hosts a few houses, a bathhouse, and some military settlements. At the end of the Isola del Tino, there is a lighthouse, which illuminates the Gulf at night and, not far, the ancient monastery where lived Venerio, the holy hermit who with his fires gave light in the night to sailors in difficult waters.

The islands feature a very white rock, of calcareous origin, which contrasts with the black lava rock typical of Portovenere, in spectacular striations both in the emerged water and in the depths. Here, it will be wonderful to dive into the bluest waters of the Gulf.

Castles and enchanted bays

After lunch at the Yacht Club of Fezzano cooked by our chef, sail to the eastern part of the Gulf, to explore the ancient villages of San Terenzo and Lerici, dominated by their castles, and the magnificent village of Tellaro, counted among the most beautiful villages in Italy.
